At the early age of six, Blain Deaton could be found sitting at the family piano learning to play by ear his early influences The Doors, The Animals, Deep Purple and his biggest influence Billy Powell of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, he studied voice and theory with the late, world-renowned Judy Davis, coach of nearly every major star from En Vogue to Janis Joplin to Frank Sinatra.
Having survived the "Big Hair Era" of the 80's Blain learned the many ins and outs of the music business while gaining the maturity of a professional, seasoned musician. Known today as an accomplished piano and Hammond organ player, Blain is versatile in all styles excelling in funk, rock and especially southern rock.
His Vocal and Keyboard skills are frequently hired for studio and live performances and has shared the stage with numerous local Bay Area artists and national acts such as The Delta Wires, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, Bo Diddley, Freddie Boom Boom Cannon, Black Hawk (featuring Henry Paul of The Outlaws), Faith Hill, Bryan White, Greg Kihn, Leon Russell, Pam Tillis, Soyer Brown, Leanne Rhimes and many others. Blain's teamwork skills and experience make him an invaluable asset to any group.
